8L90 or 10L90 ?
I honestly want the 6XD sequential..but since 90% of her life will be on the street, I would probably regret that decision?
So... I'm trying to see if anyone has any experience with the 10L or 8L trans?
I have a billet LS Noonan 427 with a 4.5L whipple, will make about 1300hp. At this point we have a 9" with 3.70 gears in it.
I've heard the 10L has way better shifts than the 8L or can that all be built in when I rebuild the trans?
Thanks for the insight
The 10L Family so far has been good, but it is still early yet in terms of Performance Aftermarket support for it.
The 8L Transmission Family suffers from multiple Design flaws that come from being excessively CHEAP.
GM has abandoned the 8L Transmission Family, and will be suffering the Financial Repercussions for a long time.
My personal opinion as a Former Transmission Engineer, is that the 8L Family is plain ol' FUCK3D!
I would advise that you stay away from it, unless you plan to redesign multiple aspects of it.
Best of luck to you.
.. this helps narrow it down

I honestly wouldn't hate putting a T56 in her.. but I'm a bit concerned she might be a handful trying to shift and drive at WOT.
I had a 900hp BBC in a 68 chevelle which had a built T-400 and the majority of the time I was glad I had two hands on the wheel controlling the "dance"
What little ive seen of the 6L is those are good though. a friend of mine has some sort of stock blower ctsv record and he swears the trans and converter are stock. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I enjoy the knowledge base shared for others here - Thanks!
