Default S10 Lq4 swap converter choice

Planning on doing a swap have a Lq4 that is getting cammed but the truck is a street runner with some drag use expected and picking a cam , but that requires a converter so looking for some recommendations from anyone doing or done something similar, truck has a 3.73 gear and will have the 4l80e . Transbrake will be added after installation.

As someone on the Forum that Builds Complete Power-Train Systems...
I would recommend that you Spec the Camshaft to your Engine-Combination and Power-Goals.

Once the Camshaft has been selected for the Engine...
I would Spec the Torque-Converter to the Entire Vehicle:
-Vehicle Weight.
-Ring and Pinion Ratio.
-Tire Size/ Height.
-Engine Displacement.
-Static Compression Ratio.
-Camshaft.
-Dynamic Compression Ratio.
-RPM Operating Range.
-Peak HP and RPM that it occurs.
-Average HP.
-Peak Torque and RPM that it occurs.
-Average Torque.
-Power Adders.
-Intended Vehicle use.
-Etc.

I would recommend contacting our Forum Sponsor: FTI Performance.

Depending upon the year of the S10, they had the little 7.5/7.625" rear end and 1995 started an optional 8.5" rear.
A transbrake will destroy the smaller 7.5/7.625 rear since it acts like manual tranny and provides a high shock load to the rear.

What @vortecirocorteciroc said ! After the camshaft is spec'ed then talk to multiple torque converter manufacturers. You should be able to decern what torque converter to go with after you do this.
Be honest in answering all questions the companies ask with spec'ing camshaft. Again be totally honest with the questions the torque companies ask. You will have the best possible combination for your "application" you will be happy with your performance of your S10
