tire size 305/70/16
I added Truecall cooler 40.000
the problem with transmission
3 times I changed the transmission over the course of three years
All of them I bought from Junkyard
last gear 2004 4l60e 5 pinion 4WD
Now work only 1
so I am thinking of buying a building kit that will be useful for my cars in the desert and daily use
Stop getting the transmissions from the junkyard, unless you are going to rebuild them.
5-pinion planetaries are NOT as good as 4-pinion, it is a subject that has been discussed many times on here.
Read some of the stickied threads at the top of the page; after you have read through a few of them, start asking questions.
Well, its not that 5 pinion is not as good as 4. Its just useless in 99% builds. It is the aftermarket cheap 5 pinions is garbage. The OEM one is good. Just useless.
For a mater of fact, @Kfxguy did destroyed few 4 pinions in the past and switched to OEM 5 pinions
I'm not sure of your question but hope this helps.
Whatever It Takes Transmission Parts will have a kit to meet your needs. You can order from their web site or find a store near you and purchase your parts locally. Locally is cheaper most of the time.

The OEM/ Stock/ GM/ Hydra-Matic/ ACDelco (whatever you want to call them) 5-Pinion Planets are inferior to the 4-Pinion Planets...
End of Story!

I keep reading guys saying this same thing. My experience has been exactly the opposite, honestly. I have been out of the 60 game for some time now, and pretty much all I build is diesel stuff anymore, but I've certainly put in my time with the 60's. I, personally, found the OE 5 pinion carriers to be stronger where they spline onto the low roller inner race; right down at the base where it transitions from the spline lugs into the actual carrier. The 4 pinion carriers are undercut right there, with the bottom of the lugs having been machined away, while the 5 pinion carriers have the lugs running all the way down. I have seen several performance builds across my bench over the years with the 4 pinion carrier broken right down at the base of that transition. I have not seen the same with the 5 pinions. Again, just my experiences...
I'm not trying to start a war or anything, and I know this is hashed to death all too often. I'm just curious where you're seeing the rear planets fail...both 4 and 5 pinion.
