shifting to early 4l60e

shifting to early 4l60e i have a 99 firebird formula 5.7 4l60 and it is shifting way to early , goes into 2nd almost immediately and then into 3rd , when in manual gears it still shifts , like when i have it in 1st it still shifts into 2nd and 3rd / any advice?
