turbo 350 questions
just looking for advice for were to get a turbo 350 overhaul kit, shift kit and what mods need to be done. im overhauling for my girls 70 camaro zz4 and 373 in the rear. nothing crazy about the car.thanks guys
You should be able to get all of the parts needed for your rebuild from Whatever It Takes Transmissions Parts. I would dual feed the high clutches, install a wide high clutch drum bushing, a long output shaft bushing, replace all of the rest of the bushing and install a TransGo Shift Kit. I would also replace the low roller and intermediate sprags. The rest of the mods would depend on the use of the car and torque converter. For a added peace of insurance install a hardened outer intermediate race, but its not needed for a stock rebuild with stock hp.
There is more that can be done if going behind a higher hp engine. Let us know the intended use and we can give more info if needed.

simple th350 can be done with no off the shelf shift kits, or fancy parts
-all bushings. Seriously. Th350 eat bushings. Wide direct drum for sure.
-keep the wave in the intermediate pack
-stock clutch count of 5 fwd/4 dir is plenty. 2 or 3 intermediates, whichever your core comes with, will be fine
-no need for a shift kit. Just drill the separator plate, and discard the 1-2 accumulator spring.
-if the roller clutch (sprag) springs feel ok and the rollers look good, you may reuse. Otherwise it's cheap insurance to replace.
-dual feed the direct clutch. This is as easy as leaving a seal/sealing ring off and plugging one hole.
