4l60e transmission not shift right help

The 4l60e is a 4-speed transmission with 4th gear being overdrive. When accelerating you should feel 3 shifts and a drop in RPMs once at cursing speed when the torque converter clutch locks up.
As for the issue you are having, in all likelihood your 3-4 clutch has expired and will require a rebuild. I don't think it is an electrical/electronic problem, because for the transmission the make the shift into 3rd gear both shift solenoids are turned off. If the transmission was unplugged, it would have 3rd gear if it were mechanically sound.
