Default No gears.

I don't know if I'm on the right site but it's all about the 4l60e transmission right. I have a 2003 GMC Envoy 4x4 with a 4l60e tranny. Was coming home for lunch the other day and it just stopped pulling. Fluid is full and shifter goes through gears as it should. There's no problem with cable or linkage and the reman transmission is only 8 months old. I'm thinking the pump or torque converter because I took the line off and started the vehicle and no fluid pumped out. Am I right or wrong. Somebody knows for sure right?

Did you reuse the Torque Converter, or the ATF Cooler?

I'm not really sure. I bought the car in April and haven't had any issues until this. I'd say that they did reused the cooler but I don't know about the converter. I do know that about a month after I bought it I was on the interstate for the first time in it and it blew the line off of the top of the tranny and dumped all of the fluid. I fixed it on the side of the highway and haven't had any issues since. I also know that a couple of shade tree mechanics did the install but seems to be installed correctly. Everything is tight and right, except for the line that one time. LoL

Sounds like the pump broke or the cooler is plugged, depending on if you took the line off to test fluid flow before the cooler or after the cooler. Also, the torque converter bolts could have come out of the flex plate.

I have had a lot of issues with broken pump rotors in the last 6 month's. Three broken rotors that were out and running around. They were all 3-8 months from there rebuilds.

1 was OE, the other 2 were aftermarket 10 vane rotors. Both were that dark golden color. I don't know the manufacturer of them, they came from Whatever It Takes. All the transmissions were in good shape, little to no pump damage. 1 was scored enough that I grabbed a different pump. I haven't had any trouble with the 10 vane rotors below 500HP.

Did they have the hardened pump rings in them?

When I use the OE rotor over, I put in the Sealed Power replacements. On the aftermarket 10 vanes I usually go with the TransGo No-Yo-Yo kit depending on the over/under 5500 rpm. None of the rings looked damaged, but got replaced anyway...

Speaking of rotors...

TB's and Voys have a problem with them. They always breaks once in a while on someone. What is the real reason they break?

Ive heard about the torque converter slips out of the rotor when you accelerate and then smashes into the rotor breaking it. How true is that?
