700r4 output shaft endplay?? Hi all, I got an 89 700r4 I'm putting together and the output endplay has me stumped. First off it's like 3 trannys mix-matched into one good one, full rebuild kit w/bushings, bearings and sonnax smart shell w/Torrington instead of black plastic washer. I get the lower half assembled, install the output shaft snap ring and the shaft has .045" end play (this is from the snap ring bottoming on the front planet to the shaft shoulder bottoming on the rear planet ring gear) and same readings fully assembled with pump bolted in and out of the tranny stacked up on the bench. I have the rear endplay shims from sonnax but where they tell you to put them (between rear planet ring gear and case bearing) will only raise the entire stack in relation to the case, shaft endplay doesn't change. I'm 100% certain bearings/bushings/washers are in the correct place, so what do I do? If anything.
