700R4 Lo/Reverse retainer rings for clutch support assembly
I tore down a '92 700R4 to rebuild a rebuild I received. During dissassembly of the L/Rev assembly there was a snap ring from an input clutch housing on top of the clutch pack. Just like the ATSG pic on p59..large ring on top and small ring on the bottom,LOL. But we know it should be 2 large ones. The lower snap ring groove is smaller than the top one. So, how thick is the bottom snap ring to fit the groove? To order.
Also, watching 700R4 videos, I've never seen anyone install 2 L/R retainer snap rings. What's with that?

I've been building transmissions since 1978. i cant remember ever seeing 2 snap ring grooves for the L/Rev. retainer.on a 700R4. I've seen reverse input drum retainer snap rings put in the low reverse. When someone does that, they are a pain to get out.
