700R4 pump

On 700 rebuild, pump drops down to the rubber seal and stops like it's sitting on something. pump is aligned and fits otherwise.
I pulled out the input and reverse drum assembly and dropped the pump into the drum. There's about an 1/8th inch gap between the drum and the plastic pump thrust washer.

its not going to fall into place
it's a seal...it will have tension

you should be able to lube the seal and gently push the pump in with your thumbs. but it won't just fall in

I realize that, It seems something is jamming it from pushing it into place. I'll check again to see if the pump halves are aligned.

Might check your rings on the stator. If one isnt sized right it wont go down in the rev drum. Try putting your resizer on them for a while then try it
