I'm just getting done a swap and finally at the point of finishing off the tuning. I did a 4l80e segment swap and my hpt file currently has a stock tune file for the trans. For just starting the base tuning can I take all the setting in my original 60e tune file and copy/paste them over to the 80e file? It's close to an identical stall convertor so I figure this may be a good place to start. I think that I possibly may need to just scale some of the tables based on gear ratio changes, but otherwise is this a good methodology?
Check out the end of this file here. I used bluecat tool to dial in the shift points. Just put in the new gear ratio into the bluecat tool and copy the tables over into HP.
