Default 04+ 4l80e forward gears only

My 4l80e just goes forward
in N,R,D
I put a transgo Kit into it. A new harness and filter.
when I am in N and not running I can push the car back.
however I don't understand why she's going forward in N when running.
She has all new fluids , stock converter . Yes its a used 4l80 but supposed to be in good working order.
YES I read a bunch of threads about fused clutches , manual valve body etc...
lot of assumptions I think, nothing really leads to a correct way to troubleshoot.
Others Report that after driving they get all gears back ...

who experienced this?

Give us some history on this. Is this a new-to-you transmission? Or vehicle? What's the history with the transmission if you know it?

Was it working properly before you installed the Transgo Shift Kit? Or was that an attempt to fix the problem?

When you put it in Neutral, you disconnect the power to the driveshaft and disengage the transmission parking pawl mechanism. You are supposed to be able to move the vehicle if it's in Neutral, that's the intent of neutral.

Do all forward gears work?

Edit: you said vehicle moved forward in Neutral... something is internally binding?

did you remember to hook the link to the manual valve? it has to be done as the valve body is being installed.

As tayto says, drop the pan and check that the link on the manual valve is hooked up to the rooster cone.

Anytime that the Transmission seems to be in an incorrect Gear selection...

The very first thing to verify is that the Gear Selector actually moves all of the following:
-Cable
-Linkage
-Selector-Shaft and Rooster-Comb
-Manual-Valve

Also make certain that any Transfer-Case or Differentials are operable.

If there are no mechanical issue found with the above components...
Then Hydraulic and Electronic Diagnostics can proceed.

so the trans is a used one ins a new build so its 1st start.
i bought the trans as a good unit , however i have not seen it in operation.
I added the transgo kit as a performance upgrade
what im saying with N is ... that if it running and im in N it drives forward. if the the car is shut off i can Push /move the car in N forward and backwards.
I do not know if ALL forward gears work.
I dont know if it is internally binding , i dont have a indication or mechanical bad sound.

FYI
i have it in a BMW e90
And i use the stock Shifter of the bmw with a shifter bracket for that setup
see : https://lse90.com/product/lse9x-4l80e-shifter-bracket/

Downside is that i basicly have to neglect 1,2,3 and just drive it in D since the shifter literally cant be moved into 1,2,3
