Default Did i destroy my 4L80e?

Hey gents, got some 4L80E questions. i had a driveshaft made, but it required alotta force to get the sucker in deep enough onto the output splines of the trans to get the other end onto the rear end. I did some low speed driving around, tryin stuffs out. only took it on the highway once and it had a real bad vibration. I took it back to the shop and did some research and turns out there is a o-ring or something i was supposed to remove on the output shaft behind the tailhousing, well i got the driveshaft off and took the tailhousing off and... theres no o-ring. it looks different then what i've seen online. the output shaft has a bit of side to side play as well... not sure if thats normal or if i wounded it. Was hoping someone here would know if this driftshaft/output shaft is compatible and if the side to side play (1/8th of a inch or so) is normal?

I would say no on the trans damage and the rear bushing is pretty narrow so some side to side with tail housing off is normal the bushing in tail is most of the support,
I would say your drive shaft is simply too long by a small amount this will need to be corrected to avoid potential damage.
That is a full spline output shaft so this is really the only option.

Thank you brother, i really appreciate you chiming in. I am going to reassemble, take the rear wheels off and spin the truck up to highway speeds on jackstands, should beable to determine if that vibration is driveline related that way. i did use some of that goo in a can to stop a slow leak on the rear tire, but it sat for a few months after which may of solidified the goo in one spot.

There is an o ring there and you are looking right at it. But, you dont want to remove it

I would remeasure your driveshaft and also make sure its balanced

Found the problem, the rear end was completely destroyed. After i replaced everything the vibration is completely gone.
