Default 8L90E conversion

Im looking for some information. Id like to run a 8L90E trans in my car, its a hsv senator , in the US basically same as a pontiac g8.
I reached out to zero gravity in the states about it and was told they can supply everything to get it running but it wont have torque management and they said they would be concerned about long term durability
What does torque management affect ?
is it to important to ignore ?
Just run it?

Torque management slightly reduces engine power during shifts. Companies have been doing this for over 20 years. It slightly prolongs transmission life.

Let me try to talk you OUT of swapping the 8L90; I don't have one, but I have it on good authority (@vorteciroc ), that it's a real piece of dog ****. Just stick with your 6LXX and you'll be fine.

The only people that should own 8l90 series transmissions:
-people with too much money/too many things to drive that dont mind this vehicle spending most of it's life in the repair shop/dealership
-transmission builders who get the whole vehicle for a steal of a deal and are OK with fixing it themselves and dealing with the headache
-masochists who want to suffer through dealing with this hot garbage GM called a transmission

*this opinion is liable to change in coming years as parts and tuning gets better for these*
but for now...just...don't get an 8l90 unless you fall into one of the above 3 categories
