Default '00 WS6 Auto Locked Up In Reverse

So my 2000 WS6 Convertible has been running fine and trouble free for the 3 years I've owned it. This past Saturday I back it out of the garage put it in park drop the top put it in reverse again take my foot off the brake roll back about a foot and it stops dead. Tap the gas and it doesn't want to move. Put it in drive and it's fine goes foward no problem. Put it back in reverse and it rolls to about the same spot and jambs to a stop again. Had to be somewhere so I put up the top and put it away and took my dd.
On Tuesday I start the car in the garage warm it up put it reverse and nothing. Put in drive and get the normal sound, back in reverse still nothing. Tap the gas there's a loud bang and a shudder then it goes in reverse. It seems to be working normal for now but I can hear a rotational grinding noise as I pull into or back out of the driveway.
I'm assuming it won't last long and I'm looking at a rebuild or replacement? Only 58k miles, no dash lights or codes.
