Question 4L60e Can I use the donor shifter?

Hi y'all! I'm in the middle of my first LS Swap (2004 5.3L into a 66 Chevelle). I'm using the factory wiring harness. The motor starts and runs, but I'm struggling with getting the transmission into gear (4L60e). I've verified that I have key-on 12v to the E pin on the transmission connector and pin 75 on the PCM. I'm using the shifting lever from the donor car (2004 SSR). I've read every post I can find about wiring a 4L60e but I still haven't found the answer. I'm wondering if maybe it's something with the shifting lever.

What do most people use for a shifting a 4L60e?
I'd rather not spend hundreds more on an aftermarket shifter.

Well, somehow I missed the fact that the 4L60e isn't electronic-only shifting, and there's a physical cable that needs to be connected to the shifter. Doh!
Thanks to Supersipp on the Sloppy Mechanics discord for pointing that out. I'll report back to close the loop after I've connected that cable and tried again.

Yep, must have the cable hooked up.
