Default Too much fluid?

Freshly rebuilt 4l60. With a 3600 stall converter. Trans shop said to put 2 quarts in converter and another 12 in trans. I have a Lokar dipstick and I’m leaking a ton of fluid past the trans case. Too much fluid? Crappy dipstick? Or something else.

Your going to have to pinpoint the actual leak area. "Leaking a ton of fluid past the trans case" is a very broad term to describe a leak area. Leaks at the aftermarket 'Lokar" dipstick is quite common To much fluid could be coming from the vent tube/hose.

Based on a quick search, you might have 2 quarts too much in it. Maybe someone else can confirm the correct volume.

it appears to be the passage where the dipstick presses in.

Don't know about the fluid leak but a 4l60e with a 9.5 in. converter does not take 14 total quarts of fluid.

You should not have blindly been filing it and I would say you may be 3+ quarts over filled.

If you have a deep pan, over filling by half a quart should put you at around 11 quarts
