ok thank you....i have a 2001 s-10 with the 4l60e behind a 2.2 motor and i wish to put in a 3.8 with a 200 trans 1983 thought i could leave the trans in the s-10 to use but if it wont go i will do other things to make the 200 work Jim

Also for 1983...
You would be talking about the Original Buick 3.8L Engine (Essentially a Buick Small Block V8 with 2 Cylinders removed) NOT the GM/ Buick Corporate 3800 Engine.
Different Engines and different Bell-Housing Patterns.
