Have a 94 Z28 with 134k on the clock. I have a B&M cooler on it. Put it on the car at 82k miles. Any tips to improve the life of the trans even more besides a cooler and being light footed? Shift kit?
Honestly if it working good and functioning as it should and assuming no major power adders coming up I would other that servicing leave it alone.
While shift kits and such can add life messing with a good working trans (Again unless your planning major power adders or have good experience with working on them) many times results in less than desirable results. A 94 Z would already have a corvette servo. One thing you can do if you have tuning software like CATS TUNER is get rid of the - number pull back in the shift timing on the 2-3 shift I ike to set all the shift time tables to 0.000 sec will make it feel better do this in the performance and normal table or just performance if you have the switch. And if you want a little more performance feel highlight the shift presure tables right click and use the multiplier and multiply buy 1.10 this will give you a nice performance shift feel without becoming overly agressive (note only do this is you have a good stable laptop and are somewhat familiar with doing tuning else you can brick PCM) Otherwise send it out or contact someone like Strong performance or pcm4less who actually still do obd1 tuning.
