Forgot 4l60e plastic thrust washer pump to stator
Or what am I missing?
If it is on the bench...just pull the pump out, install the washer, and make it right. It's not hard to fix this issue.
It likely took longer to upload pics and make a forum post than it would have taken to pull the pump and correct the mistake.
Good Practice I do with every build is clean up imediatley after each build completed and I do actually take photos of every build too step by step for customers. But the side advantage is if i get this "did i do that panich attack! We all have had I can go back and reveiw photos.
Or
A lot of work later
Seems like you knew the answer when you posted
Not trying to be a jerk. I think you were probably hoping someone would just say it'll be fine then you can move on.
Will it be fine? Probably. That washer hardly ever takes any abuse/wear. Indicating it's not really loaded hardly ever. BUT...it's there for a reason. To limit the travel of the drum.
So Is leaving it out right? Definitely not.
If you lose index of 1 reverse friction then it crashes into the input drum splines and makes a mess of things you'll have to pull the trans anyway...but it'll be a mess when it does happen. And who knows where you'll be when/if the problem occurs.
Do it now or roll the dice on dealing with it later
