Default 5.7 to 4l60

I have a quick question. I’m very new to Ls swaps. Bear with me. I put a ls1 5.7 out of a 2000 corvette and mated it to a 4L60E out of a 2004 pontiac GTO. When the torque converter is seated all the way in it’s almost a half an inch away from the flywheel. I have to pull out the torque converter to bolt it to the flywheel. Idk just dosnt seem right. Maybe it’s perfectly find. Everything bolts up accordingly just seems like to much space. Any advice will help

It is not unusual to have to add some shims or washers to get a 3/16th gap. You just need to make sure that you don't shim it so much that you pull the converter out from the crankshaft register.
