Default Feel kinda dumb

Just spent over and hour trying to figure out why my fwd clutch set was locked solid with frictions install, finally measured them and found they were all .010 thicker , then wen to catalog and found that while all else is correct in the kit, the Fwd frictions are early 80s 700r4 lol

The older I get the more I realize that you have to check behind everyone. I just ordered a Dana 60 diff that would be narrowed 3" on each side from Strange. After waiting 3 months for in to come in, in my excitement I welded on tabs to hold down the brake lines and installed it in the car, threw my old wheels on expecting them not to fit. Well, they fit by a mile. After some quick measuring I found that it is the same width as stock. I always preach trust no one and check everything and I the one time I don't check before installing I get bit big time. Two weeks later I am still working with Midwest Chassis and Strange trying to come to a workable solution.

What brand of frictions?

Don't worry, I think we've all had a "stupid moment" that wasn't actually our fault.

I know that I could tell you some stories...

I have seen the same with the low/reverse clutches. The early TH350 low/reverse clutches are .010" thicker than the 700R4/4L60E low/reverse clutches.
All of the sudden just about zero clearance. The engineers have to get paid to mix things up every once in awhile, at our expense.
When the 1987 pump came out, and was going to rebuild it. I did not know they had a ledge to keep the bushing from walking out. Well you know what next. Drove out the bushing, the usual way, and guess what. I drove out part of the pump not knowing at the time about that ledge. That was an expensive mistake at the time back in the late eighties. This is just a couple of unneeded experiences with these transmissions. Live and learn.
