4l60e problems please help! I recently put a known good 4l60 into my Tahoe right out of the donor truck that drove fine. Shifted fine at first then the coolant line blew off and it started slipping into 3rd and 4th. Now it revs up into 3rd and when I punch it, it will go into od but will just rev up whenever it tries to shift out. 1-2 is still good. Manual 1-2 good m3 revs up. Reverse works 1-2 works. The same exact thing happened to my other trans I took out for this one

The 3-4 clutch pack friction material is gone, laying in the fluid pan and elsewhere. The blown cooler line didn't help and if there was any debris / metal bits in the lines from the previous transmission . . . that also didn't help. Same torque converter without cleaning it out . . . not good for the new transmission.

When the cooler line came off and the transmission started slipping the damage was done. If the cooler line came loose on the 1st transmission also, then your 1st move would be to properly repair the cooler line so that you don't kill anymore transmissions. Anyway, time for a rebuild.

Even with the best possible 3-4 clutch set up due to to area they have. It does not take much to smoke them in a low line fluid situation 1/4 mile or less they are toast . So as mentioned time for another rebuild

Did you clean the cooler lines and cooler out before swapping? Must do that.
Did you reuse the torque convertor from the other trans? Big no no.
Using a used trans is a roll of the dice in itself.
I take it you filled the fluid back up after the lines came off?
