4l60e not engaging gears

4l60e not engaging gears 98 k1500 5.7
Trans shifting poorly and won't go into overdrive. Swapped in a trans from a 00/01 S10. Fluid level is high and doesn't go down when engine is running, makes me assume pump is bad or torque converter isn't engaged.
Anything else I should check? Everything is connected from flywheel to electrical connectors. I did swap in the torque converter from original trans. Any issues this might cause?

Bit confusing here The s10 would have had a 4.3 with 298 shaft and so should the 5.7 truck and you have movement so not a missmatch issue.
