LT1 vs 3800 V6 Trans Just curious. I have the original sales brochure for the 2002 trans am. It lists for the LS1 "heavy duty automatic transmission with overdrive". For the V6 it lists " automatic transmission with overdrive". I know the LT1 has a 4 speed auto, with locking converter. I also know that the V6 has a 4 speed with locking converter. It is the same trans? It this just sales hype?

Same trans BUT the 3,8 uses a 245mm input shaft with a short stator so not a swap without mods, Other than that the v6 came with a weaker servo , Other than that pretty much the same trans.
The LS came with a 300mm shaft and a longer stator,
Both are 4L60E TRANS
