4l60E manual shift
HOW many people have hooked up a standalone harness to use manual shift. or have installed paddle shift? I know TCI sells a wireless kit but but the kit cost alot of money. i know if you find a steering wheel with paddles and the spline is right and find the right clockspring and wire it right it will work . right now i am working on a wireless from a push button control i toke apart and ran wires to rocker switches then i am hooking up relays too led lights for A and B solenoids. i do have a master relay to discount A and B from the ECM when this is on. it all will work i think if i put enough relays in. just testing it all right know and looking for the right paddles i can use. ca is a 450SL Mercedes with LS swap.and 4L60E. HAPPY HOILDAYS
First sounds like you may be making it needlessly hard.
If your plan is to shift it manually with the shifter, Simple 1 ground solenoid A then you only need to ground sol B with a switch of some sort in manual 1 so either directly as many have done with no issues use the M1 switch in the pressure manifold to ground sol B ON MANUAL 1 or you can do it via a relay and that terminal on the pressure switch or even an SCR. The rest of the gears will work out hydraulically with the shifter. Now I would suggest some sort of pressure control such as the transgo 46MOD'
And of course you will want lockup, This can be done by a simple switch that powers on the TCC and the PWM SOL or you could if you set up like a 3 sec delay allow it to lock with the 4th gear pressure switch (definitely with an SCR or RELAY) two sols would certainly be to much for the little switches in the manifold..This way you could pass D4 without engaging the TCC every time on the way down.
Now if you wanna do it in D4 position a bit more complicated. You would need a paddle for each gear you want to create or some logic circuit to create it with each paddle push.
But even in that set up I strongly suggest setting up pressure control .
Sorry I am not real fluent with Paddle shifter set up.
