4l60e locked up Transmission is in an 06 Trailblazer
While taking off from a stop transmission locked up with a somewhat of a bang and brought the vehicle to an abrupt stop. The vehicle never stop running, but would not move forward, it responded like it was in neutral. To get the vehicle off the road it was put into reverse and it worked like there was no issues. While getting ready to put it on a trailer to haul at home. I attempted to put it in drive and it worked fine.
While performing other tests on it at home it failed again in drive and in third gear, reverse again worked like it had before. I continued to try first and second from the gear selector and the vehicle moved with no issues. Has anyone experienced this before?

Not saying this is what happened with this one clearly, but this is @MaroonMonsterLS1 issue with the billet collar from Sonnax. The drum will find another weak point

The forward sprag allows the driveshaft speed to exceed the engine speed, e.g. when coasting. In D1 and D2 (and in D3 but only while in 3rd gear with a stock trans), the overrun clutches prevent coasting and basically give you engine braking.
Sounds like the forward sprag failed during acceleration and then locked up, braking your vehicle to idle speed. It is now completely messed up. D1 and D2 work because the overrun clutches provide forward power; Reverse doesn't need either.
Broken hard parts often fling metal throughout the trans, and therefore require a complete disassembly and rebuild.
