Default Torque converter help

Hey there trying to find best converter for my car.

It's a th350 with a 5.3 lm7 . It's around 375hp and 400tq. Has a bigger cam .227/234 .600"/.600" 111 LSA 109 ICL.

Thanks for any input

What are you using the car for? Track only, street strip, more street driver/weekend car show toy?

A torque converter does not make a cammed engine surge. That is due to insufficient tuning for the cam.
The esr3082 is FTI's basic, entry level converter. As soon as you say "best" you need to accept $800+ prices.
IMHO and in the opinion of likely everyone here who has spent $800+ on their converter, this purchase will outperform anything else you can do for $800 (or even $1000) to your engine or car.

I put in a custom FTI unit for my 4l80e last summer and couldn't be happier with it. But yea you'll have to accept the price that comes along with. Expect to spend $1000+ for a good converter

If your ESR is less than a year old I could restall it for free if you cover the freight. The ESR series is our entry level 450hp rated converter which is fine for the power you are making now but you will need an upgrade if you ever plan to grow.

I'm also inclined to concur with MRVEDIT that loosening the converter may only be masking something else that needs to be addressed.

After being through more than my share of "off the shelf" converters, not running one custom built for MY combo and use... NEVER going back to a shelf converter.

Not really much if any more $$$
