Trucool 40k in an Fbody install pics
First off, no need for a cooling fan if you run it up front. I ran the cooler directly to the transmission and bypassed the radiator since I don't drive in winter months. If it's a 4L80E, the fitting on the cooler that’s closest to the transmission can go to the feed fitting, and the return line can connect to the fitting on the cooler that is further from the transmission. I like to install the cooler with the fittings facing down, in the south position because it’s easier to route the lines. With this cooler, there is no concern for air pockets forming. It can be mounted upside down with no issue and function perfectly. I beat the hell out of my 4L80E in 95 deg temps and I can't even get the temps past 150 deg with this cooler.
If you were using an old cooler that you are replacing, make sure you flush it really well and flush the lines. You don’t want any metal getting into the new cooler. Be aware of fakes on ebay and amazon for the Trucool 40k. Some of those knockoffs don't cool well at all.
The correct fittings to use on the cooler itself are Russel 640380 if converting to 6 AN lines. They seem to fit better than the F06AN625IF fittings made by ICT billet. In any case, I recommend tig welding the 640380 fittings onto the cooler to prevent any possible future leaks.
I used an Evil Energy 6AN PTFE hose kit for the lines. KT00615AN6BB Depending on how long your lines are, you may need 2 kits. This kit doesn't come with 180 deg fittings, so be sure to source those as well if needed. They are part #723284060798.
4L60E, you'll need NPSM 1/4-6AN trans adapter fittings also. ICT Billet 551114 should work fine. This also fit 91-96 4L80E. Banjo fittings can be used also, something like WARR Performance 47-0033
For 4L80E that is 1997 to 2008, you'll need NPSM 1/4-6AN (.521 diameter) for 4L80E but one fitting that goes into the rear port will be longer, the shorter length fitting goes in front port. ICT billet 551124, or WARR Performance 47-0030 for banjo fittings.
For 4L80E that is 09' and later, you'll need 6ANx9/16-18 NPSM (0.556 diameter) ICT Billet AN799-4L-06A for rear, or something like WARR 47-0023

Converter must have been built on a Friday at 4pm because it was missing a bearing (that I found out upon disassembly) which explained why the car would shudder every time it first went into lockup.
Had me thinking my tune was off causing extra wasted time lol....
