Default Jegs 60400 converter

I bought a 220$
JEGS Torque Converter For GM TH-350 And TH-400 Transmissions | 2300-2700 RPM Stall Speed | 10.75” Flexplate Bolt Pattern | 500 Horsepower Maximum Applications
The add says
  • IDEAL for small block applications up to 500 horsepower without nitrous or super/turbochargers
What's with the "without nitrous or super/turbochargers"?

I'm pushing 10-14 pounds of boost to a bone stock long block 5.3 LS so should be making around 500 HP in a 3500 LBS car. I figure 500 HP is 500 HP - I just won't tell the converter I got a turbo and it should be fine right?

I know you get what you pay for but i got zero $$$ into the TH350 aside from the converter and I know the TH350 won't last long so it makes NO sense to pay up for a good converter (this is just to get improve the launch up until the trans blows and I get a 4L80E to replace it)

If you make 500hp NA with a smallblock, they have a pretty good idea of what your torque curve looks like, and can give you a generic approximate stall speed. With power adders, your torque curve could be almost anything. NA could be 328 ft/lbs at 8000 rpm. Nitrous could be 1050 ft/lbs at 2500rpm. Obviously that is an extreme example, but that is why power adder converters really need to be customized to the motor if you want them to stall anywhere near what you expect. And that is just the oversimplified answer.

I hope that's all it is. My only concern is that I'll push past the converter at high RPM and just be spinning the engine without putting all the power to the wheels. I'm ok with 2200 RPM stall and 2700 would be cool also...anything is better then full engagement at 1000 RPM like I have now with the stock converter.
