Mail order 4L60E reliability?
Hey guys,
A couple years ago I had a 4L60E rebuilt locally by a small shop for a '94 Camaro I used to own. I removed the trans and took it to them to rebuild and then of course I reinstalled it. I now have have another 4L60E I need rebuilt but unfortunately that shop changed owners and no longer does rebuilds and didn't have a recommendation for me on someone else who does. I've called a couple of the transmission shops around and they all want the car so they can install the transmission themselves. I'm not interested in paying a ton of labor for something I'm capable of doing myself. In fact I'll probably have the old trans out later tonight. If anyone knows a shop that will do a rebuild like this around the Kansas City/Wichita area that would be great. I just need this for a stock '05 Silverado. Otherwise are there reputable and relatively low-cost online rebuild options? I found one doing a quick google search and the price isn't bad. It just sucks to pay $400 in shipping plus a liftgate.
