First short background. Brand new TransKing TH-400. Reverse pattern, manual valve body, with transbrake. Only 25-30 passes on it. Worked perfected. No problems wants so ever. Took the converter out, re-stalled from 4000 to 4800. Brand new Turbo cheater shifter.

First 5 passes were about perfect. 1st round of elimination, got a new best of 10.56 with 1.42 60'.

On the 2nd round of elimination, I went to shift from 1 to 2 it stayed in 1st, quickly shifted into 3rd. Finished the run. Came to the pits. The SS would not shift from 1st to 2nd. Park, Reverse, 1st and 3rd are all fine. Just no 2nd gear. Took the shifter cable off, still the same, manually shifted from 1st to 2nd, same no change still in 1st.

Everyone said it was just the valve body, and should be an easy fix. Well, took the valve body off, went to the tranny shop, they couldn't find anything wrong with it. NONE of the valve were stuck. Did we get lucky??? Put the valve body back into the SS. Fired it up. Same ****. All gears are perfect. Just will not shift from 1st to 2nd.

No metal shavings, oil was just changed, oil was still clear. Tranny was not over or under filled.

I know its the weekend but really need help ASAP.

Something in the 2nd gear sprag assembly could have let go. The transmission will have to taken apart for this.
