TH400: To upgrade or not (first gear)

TH400: To upgrade or not (first gear) Should I stick with the 2.48 standard stock gear or spring for the 2.75? Any disadvantages/advantages? I just want to eliminate as much of the natural "bog" that the TH400 has as as possible?

Sounds like a great project you're building. The 2.48 gear with the power you'll be making will work great, just make sure you get a really good converter. Out of curiousity, is this OD unit because this will be your daily driver?

No problem. BTW you won't have any problems cruising without OD. It's a nice to have, but remember not too long ago 3 speed autos were the factory norm. It all comes down to what people are used to. I speak from the experience of when I had a 67 Camaro, TH400, 4.56 gears and daily driven. Not that I'd suggest it for everyone, but just using an example. No matter what you do, I'm sure it'll be nice as it sounds like you've got some big plans
