i installed the transgo before my trans went lol, burnt the 3-4 clutches and broke about everything else on the juice... i installed race clutches and replaced everything with hipo parts... the shift kit is stil in the car.. should i modify mine since i have replaced everything else with better parts??
also does the trans pan actually help the trans life by adding 2 qt.s more fluid?
although i still have the stock pan, i have heard from many of people saying it is not worth getting the deep trans pan if you already have the trans cooler, but i say it can't hurt.
not argueing here either, but what makes tci converters junk? there are a lot of people running their converters and have never had a problem. customer service is great as well. can't say the same for yank...
I shouldn't have said junk. I meant mass produced, off the shelf. I used a TCI Trans and converter for my 68 big block Camaro. I gave them my exact specs, (including a dyno sheet and very detailed car info), and I couldn't cut better than 1.6 60' times running 10.60's @ 129mph with the converter they sent me. Come to find out, they sent me an off the shelf Super streetfighter converter. I called them and told them the problem and they told me to send the converter back for a restall to loosen it up. I took it back out and sent it back. Got the converter back and there was no difference. By this time I was disgusted and called Transmission Specialties. I gave them the same specs I gave TCI and the first pass with the new converter was a 1.49 60' running 10.34 @ 130.58! No other changes!
TCI's support was fine, but the fact that they sent me an off the shelf converter for a specific application made me doubt their knowledge. They didn't even get it right the second time.
