Default What do I need to know about a Stall Install?

Is there any special information I need for installing a stall converter? what fluid should I buy to replace the old tranny fluid? Which cooler is the best? Do I need a "deep pan?" If so, what does this do and where should I get one?

How many hours should this take an experienced person to complete?

Please talk about anything unusual or anything that is not completely obvious. Thanks!!

Use Dexron III Mercon fluid. I have a B&M 24,000 GVW cooler and a GM deep tranny pan/ filter kit (for a 700r4 truck trans).

If you do a search on the internet, there are install write-ups. Read through it and decide if you can handle it or not. If you have any experience working on cars, it shouldnt be a problem.

It took me ~2 days to swap my converter, but I didnt rush anything and I cleaned the underside of the car while I was under there (with trans out)....plus I had to wait for some seals. I'd say if you have all the things you need, it shouldnt take more than a day....but it is a lot of work, especially w/o a hoist.

I did my converter/pan/cooler for ~800.

I bought a Midwest 3500 2.0str. So far I have cut a 1.75 60' on Nittos with full weight...

I wouldnt pay 400 for an install. It isnt that tough to do...
