Default shifting problems. help

ok when i shift my car from 2nd to 3rd it takes forever to catch. i was thinking of getting a shift kit but i am very weary of those. ive had the car tuned but it didnt fix the problem. what might be wrong. all other gears catch really good. its just 3rd for some reason? oh and just curious whats a th-400 and th 350? are those like turbo 400s and turbo 350s? and can i bolt one up to my car? thx a million!!

well you should have a tranny cooler and a shift kit installed for a torque converter.. thats a pretty small stall.. but it is still probabaly making the tranny run hot.. could be burning up your tranny.. try getting a shift kit and a tranny cooler, drop your tranny pan and add 5 new quarts and try adding a quart of some Lucas tranny oil.. that stuff can make a big difference.. thats little stuff you can do.. as far as technical stuff.. sorry can't help ya.. hope i could help ya though..
