Default restall or sell Y3000 ?

I'm sending my 30k mile Yank 3000 2.0 back to Yank for a refresh during my tranny rebuild - or should I just buy a new converter ?

Anyone know offhand what my options are for a restall ? I'm hoping I can restall it to something like a 3400, without losing a lot of efficiency and keeping the STR around 2.0.

...or I could just buy a new converter and sell the Y3000.
refresh - $200
refresh w/ stall change ~$450
new converter and sell Y3000 - $800-$300=$500 - maybe a ST3500 ?

Any thoughts ?

I would sell it and step up to a different converter. I sold my Y3200 and moved up to a TCI 3800 and love it.

I would say that also but if he owned a 3000 witha 2.0 str than he probibly is looking for something much more streetable than a PT4400.

However my vote is always a PT4400 for a NA car. PT4000 for PA. Got a PT4400 in mine.

I would not restall a Y3000 to a 3400; efficency will be cut significantly. Move up to a new converter and sell the old one to someone who wants a rebuilt 3000 stall.

Thanks for the input guys, keep it coming.

I'm leaning towards a new converter - it's a daily driver and I'm running a 100 wet shot so 4000+ is too much stall...

I'm also wanting a nice gain over the 3000 to make the swap worthwhile...

I'm leaning towards the SY3500 since I already have traction issues with 3.73s, Nittos and 400+rwtq (forget about traction on the 100 shot). Lower STR is good and should still be very streetable.

Doing more research. Help me pick.

Oh, and who has the best price right now ? Need one overnight !
