Default Tailshaft length for a 400

I am in the process of gathering everything that I need for the winter project. Hence the need to know about the 400 tailshaft length. Does it matter if it is the longer or shorter tail? I have one in my possession, but am not sure if it is going to be the right one.

Thanks

the longer tailhousing is a perfect fit for the BMR crossmember. If you get the short tailhousing 400 you will need to customize your crossmember. JFYI
