Default Casting # Help

A local shop is trying to sell me a replacement for my tranny, and looking at them side by side I noticed only one difference. On the passenger side (I think) on mine I saw the number 55 and the number 58 on the replacement (about an inch and a half tall) Can anyone tell me what these numbers stand for?

Thanks,
Kevin

They mean nothing, they may have in the foundry.
There might be a casting number of around 6 digits that has some meaning.
It's the stamped number on the pad above the pan rail that has specifics right down to what vehicle it came out of.
