Default pump rotor ?

In my ss truck I broke the 13 vane rotor and the trans shop wants to install a 10 vane rotor will this be better or should I go with another 13 vane.

13 is better. I don't think you will notice any difference though.....

If it were me, i'd have it converted to vacuum modulation for line pressure while it is down...should be very cheap. As far as the rotor, no idea. What are you going back with as far as converter?

Who makes a kit to convert to vacuum modulation or what parts do I need? I changed to a 3400 stall from 3k.

From what I've read both the 10 and 13 put out the same volume. The problem with the stock 10 is at higher RPM's the pressure CAN be inconsistent.

I never had a problem with my stock one until I broke it on a bad converter install (wasn't seated the whole way). When I went to order a new one it was easier to find the 13 so I went with that.

I think trans go makes the vac mod kit. Do a search, I believe someone posted the part number. Your tranny guy should be able to do it easily. Are you getting a different converter or just having yours upped? Don't forget to blow out your tranny cooler lines.Don't want any junk going into your new setup.

I sent the conv. to ptc to be upped to 3400 so it will flash around 3k, I will make sure the trans shop cleans the cooler and lines good b/f the install. I will check on the vacuum mod. I think that would maybe make the trans last alittle longer till I can get a le80 built.
