Default All Midwest torque converter owners step inside...

I have a Midwest 3500 2.0str converter that I have put a little over 7,000 miles on. It has performed flawlessly since day 1 and has given me a 1.70 60' time on 275 nittos and a 3650 raceweight. I also average about 17 mpg with more city driving than freeway...and a little over 20 freeway only.

I am not seeing a lot of feedback for these converters...most still go for a TCI, Vig, or Yank and I realize the benefits of them all. I also seen HPA has raised the price of the MWs up to TCIs price.

So what Midwest do you have and how has it worked? I am really satisfied, but I am thinking of stepping up the stall a little.

I can't say anything but good things about my Midwest. The thing has really surpased all my extpectations. It's a 3500 2.5str without the upgraded stator. I've been hitting it with a 175+ shot of nitrous out of the hole with no issues. It's even seen as much as a 225 shot from a roll on the street. The car can 60' well and it has run as fast as 128mph at the top end so I would say it was a great converter for the money.

I've owned a MW 3000 2.3 STR for a little over 3 yrs. Bought it when my car was stock and had very good results. I had H/C installed and I believe, which I still believe to his date, the shop that did my H/C dyno'd improperly and blew my TC and spread to the trans. Anyway, enough about that so-called shop. I called MW and explained the situation and sent them the pictures of my demolished TC, and MW sent a brand new TC and paid for shipping. MW even recalibrated to accomodate the H/C set up--all for free! That is customer support! When opened, per thtranny shop, the guts looked like good quality stuff.
The H/C set up fell short of the expected numbers and I put in a better cam with a few other alterations to get what they claimed, (over 400 at rw). The new TC has been in for over a year and still holds its own.
My next mods are 3.73 and Transgo.

MW has my business.

I've got a MW 3200,2.5 str. I've had it for almost 1 1/2 yrs, and have no complaints. Although, Id like to step up the stall, thats about it. So, far the customer support has been killer. They even sent me a free bottle of additive, which helped..

What did the additive help?

I'm having a problem shifting @ WOT when the tranny is cold, and it doesn't have to be very cold. The problem is most prominant at the track and the it cools between runs. The motor will bang the rev limiter a couple of times between each shift. The rev limit is set @ 6600 and my shift point is set @ 6100. When the tranny is fully warmed up, it shifts just fine. WTF?

The additive was for a "shudder" problem, that I was having. Evidently, the fluid that I was using didnt have a "shudder protection" in it..
