HELP! Installing torque arm mount on tranny

HELP! Installing torque arm mount on tranny I'm returning my car to stock, as I plan to sell it ASAP. I swapped my built 4L60E for a buddy's stock 4L60E, but he kept his stock torque arm mount. No problem, I bought another torque arm mount.
But now the tranny is installed in the car, and I can't get the torque arm mount bolts into their holes because the holes are too close to the tranny tunnel. I've tried lowering the tranny with it still bolted up to the engine, but it won't lower far enough.
My question is, can I just pull off the tailshaft of the tranny, install the torque arm mount in its place on the tailshaft, then bolt it back up? I'm obviously not tranny-savvy, and I don't want to disassemble something that I won't be able to get back together.
