Default do you need a tune for a 23-2500 stall?

In the past few weeks I have noticed a few people talking about having to tweak the TCC lock up parameters to get the converter to function correctly after doing a stall. Will this be necessary on a 97 z that is fixing to get 3:73's and a stall or is it just a try and see deal. Any ideas would be greatly appreciate. I am also getting lt1 edit asap.

I must say I think you are wasting your time and money on a stall that size. I ran a 3200 and a 3600 converter without any tuning exept with the hypertech. When I went to a 4000+ stall then I got the car tuned since we started to see signs of TM. Tuning always helps.

For an LT1, a Vig 2800 is a good choice and rarely needs programming.

It's going on an LT1 though (notice he said 97Z) From what I"m aware...they don't like as high of stalls as the LS1's do...not in a car that's going to be on the street. The upper 2000's to low 3000's seems to be where the LT1 owners I know with street cars are happy...Now the right 4000+ stall in an LS1 can be very nice...
