Default car hiccup? What could this be?

Just curious, but when driving around on highway say at 45 or 50mph and converter locked, if I feed into gas, car feels like it's hiccuping like you can feel car shudder. If I push gas harder, converter unlocks, and car goes faster. If I hold gas steady and not push slightly progressively harder, car drives fine. Could this be tuning? The converter not sure whether to lock or unlock with how slight gas pedal movements I'm making or what? Any experience/advice is appreciated.

Sorry to be the potential barer of bad news, but here goes. It sounds to me like the converter clutch is toast. That would explain it giving you hell and shuddering. I had mine go out on me last summer and had to replace the converter with a better model. I hope it isn't the case. Good luck.
There is a way to check it. Take off the cover of the bell housing. Look at the converter. If there is a ring that looks burnt into the back of the converter, time to replace. If not, I am wrong.

It's actually barely noticeable and not too bad at all. I only recently figured out how to MAKE it do it.

Mine is doing the exact same thing. I just spent $200.00 changing out all the selinoids. Still sucks. I just ordered a new converter from Yank(3600ss) and should have it in next week. The TCI2800 is only 8months old and burnt up. What a piece of crap.
