Blown Tranny
I just went to race yesterday and I was doing fine in all races except the last one. I have 2000 ss 3500 ssf shift kit, pure b&m trick shift oil, cooler. When i left the races I noticed that A4 would not shift into 2nd gear. it shifts into 3rd after reachin 3000 to 4000 rpm depending on the throttle position. there are no SES codes being thrown. The dipstick oil seems clear but when wiped with a napkin You can see gray powder. Not alot since on the dipstick it can't be noticed. only until you use a white napkin to wipe it off. My friend is telling me my tranny is blown and I should changed the tranny to a TCI400 with another 3500 converter. he says its better. He would take care of making it fit of course. I use slicks with 4.56 gears just for FYI. What should I do. should I bye new same model tranny, change it to
TCI400 tranny, or rebuild and repack the clutch paks. PlEASE HELP

I would get all of that Trick Shift oil out of there first. May or may not be your problem, but TCI says not to use it in their converters. I think it says right on the bottle that it shouldn't be used in electronically controlled transmissions. It might be worth a try before you spend all the money on a th400.
