Default 2-3 shift hits rev limiter

At WOT my car hits the rev limiter on the 2-3 shift. Lowered my shift point to 5,800 and raised rev limiter to 6,300. Still hits rev limiter. I read some posts about trans being fluid starved when accelerating at WOT. Some posts said problem was fixed by over-filling fluid about 1 - 1 1/2 quarts. What kind of problem could overfilling the fluid cause. Car shifts and drives fine otherwise.

your clutches are giving out it sounds like....mine did that too with nitrous and then i put a 3500 stall and transgo shifkit and bumped up the line pressure and shifts like a champ now...at 6600 rpm

Its just to tie me over until i can rebuild this sucker

I got the same problem.
I was told that a deeper pan might help.
mine was 1/2 quart low on fluid I am going to fill it up and try that first.

Try lower MPH for the shift, I know that on my 98 with edit moving the RPM doesn't help.. I have to use the MPH, Try to lower a couple until it stops.

I checked the fluid last night and it was 1/2 quart low. I put 1 1/2 quarts in so I'm 1 quart over. It shifts great now.
