how hard is it to put in a lockup solenoid in a 4l60e?? i figured out thats whats wrong, thanks

 

Not very hard! Just drop the trans pan, unplug the solenoid, pull out the clip that holds it in there, Pull it out, replace it with a new one, put the clip back in, plug back up, install pan, Add fluid. Now your done.
BTW- the lock up solenoid is the one towards the front of the trans on the drivers side.

 

The lock up solenoid is the one going into the pump,it is hard wired into the harness has two bolts holding it in, the one on the drivers side is the (TCC)pwm solenoid, it is part of the lock up system however. Becarefull that you get the right one hope this helps Dave

 

my converter is not wanting to lockup and this is what i think it may be, the one my parts guy has for me had a harness plugin to it

 

The one with the harness is a lock up solenoid.......That is your "lock up solenoid".....the other solenoid associated with the lock up controll is called the "pwm solenoid". It is not "hooked" to a harness....it is a stand alone solenoid that goes into the valve body and is easily replaced. Use 99pewterz28's instructions .....hope this clears this up for you...Dave

i pulled the pan off and the solenoid was actually the one on the pass side, the one on the drivers side is the 2-3 shift solenoid, thanks for all the help on this, it seems to be doing better
