Default old school transmission question

hey guys a buddie called me and had a question about his tranny. He wants to know if you can take a tranny w/ a lock up torque con. and turn it into a non lock up. if it will work or not. i have no idea about that , ive never even heard of someone wanting to do that. thanks guys

A transmission type would help.
You can take a th350C which is a lock up trans and convert it to non lock up with a pump, input, converter, and a shift kit that has instructions for the valve body/pump mods.
You can also do it with 4L60's by using a non lock up valve in the pump and a converter with no lock up clutch. The valve and the non lock up converter must be used together.

thankyou for your help, the transmission was the th350 so that helped alot.
