When I start the car it leaps forward about a foot as if someone pushed it!! The thing is my car is automatic not 6-speed.....what do you guys think the problem is?? And also my reverse hits hard when i put it in...could it be that i need a tranny rebuild??? Thanks

Maybe but it could be that ur linkage is outta wack. Myabe try checkin that. and does it do it if u start it in nuetral?

Mine does it too, but not all the time. Usually the first start in the morning. It only lunges a couple of inches or so, but it is noticeable. Weird.

I know I've built a few transmissions with tight forward clutch clearances and they would do this.
Maybe your forward piston is sticking or the plates are warped.
Thats just a guess.

yeh it is only on the first startup in the morning.....but it lunges forward alot LOL...i'm going to check the linkage to see if anything is jacked!!

Well the drive position is pretty far away from park so I'd say thats a waste of time.
