Newbie To Stall Converters
I recently purchased a 3000 TCI converter. What should i expect from this after i install it? I recently installed a GTP 224/224 112 lsa Cam as well. What do i have to do with this new converter to not **** it up as well as my transmission? Will i be able to drive it normal or will i always have to launch it at 3000. What will i see differently on the highway? Do i need to do anything with the computer? Can i use Hypertech with this? Sorry for all the questions........
to awnser a few of your questions. a tranny cooler would help the life of your tranny i would just go with the small one. Highway will be the same it will look up so RPM's will the the same. It probelly will drive preaty close to stock. 3000 is not what RPM it starts moving at. It will just take a little more gas than stock to get going. Good luck with it and you will deffintly like driving your car more after its in. Converters are lots of fun.

As always a tune is good to optimize things, you may need to lock the converter up sooner or change your shift points .. every car is different , I was one of the first to run the tci 2800 stall and it drove almost like stock , but i did gain 5 tentha in the 1/4 with it.
Rich with that cam and heads you should already have a tune with that combo, personally you sould have got a tci 3800 that would have complimented that combo really nice.. I think you may have some locking and unlocking issues after the converter install , but with a good tune all your issues can be resolved.
I drove my tci 3800 everyday and after about a week it was hardly noticable , you get used to it..
